Government Information Security Campaign “Waay”


About the Campaign

The OCERT Unified Government Information Security Campaign “Waay” is targeting government ministries and authorities, it is part of the national information security campaign launched by OCERT in 2009 and is a continuation of phase one of the government security campaign conducted by OCERT where a representative from government organizations attended train the trainer program in information security organized by OCERT.

 

OCERT is aiming at initiating a standard and unified information security campaign to promote cyber and information security awareness, sharing best practices to mitigate security risks in order to ensure business continuity and to minimize the impacts of security risks in the government

 

The Campaign goals

-          To build and strengthen the  information security awareness within the public sector.

-          Building local capabilities in cyber security

-           Improving the security practices at public sector organizations

-           Building the awareness of identifying, dealing, reporting and responding to security incidents

-          To establish the principle of the OCERT mission as a trusted focal point of contact for any ICT security incidents

Targeted Segments :

The campaign targets all ministries, authorities, and government organizations  in Oman.
